There goes the neighborhood!

These photos should have been prefaced with a circle of neighbors holding hands around the existing house to help send it to a better place. Also I am pleased of the Hitachie/Jones site diversity demonstrated in these pix. Keep them coming!

We did say a family prayer the night before.

Our Episcopal tradition doesn't really have a directly suitable service for demolishing a residence. One parishioner suggested the simple dismissal "Go in Peace". Another suggested "Go in Pieces".

We ought to propose to the Episcopal Church that a Rite for House Demolition be developed!Maybe the books of Ezra & Nehemiah about rebuilding the Temple could figure in somewhere. On another note, it was bittersweet to see the house go -- so many wonderful memories. Exciting, though, to think about new possibilities! We'll keep watching!

We live in the neighborhood and our little boy has been enjoying making a daily pilgrimage to watch the excavator! Thanks for giving us the heads-up!

Loved the movie - How long had the family lived in the home? Was it at all sad to watch?
